Sports Bra expert Amy gives her take on the Berlei ProElite Contour Crop. Check out what Amy has to say about this offering from Berlei.
“Hi, I’m Amy from Sports Bras Direct. Today I’m having a closer look at the Berlei Pro Elite Sports Bra. This is a high impact support bra.
We’ll now have a closer look at the features.
First of all, with the cups. The cups are underwired, so this provides great breast separation and shaping. The cups themselves are not moulded or padded and they are completely seam-free. So you get a really good, smooth outline under your tops and against the skin on the inside of the cups is completely smooth as well. It is a double layer thickness in the cups. Which I find is enough for some nipple modesty without having any bulk or padding there.
If we then have a look at the straps. This bra comes with what’s called convertible straps. So it can be worn in a regular or cross-over position. At the moment I’ve got them crossed-over. Which I can show you at the back here. The strap length is adjustable as well. Now if you wanted to change it to be in the regular position, or vice versa, it’s actually done by the clips at the front. So at the top of the bra here, where the straps join, you simply unclip, adjust the strap length to your liking, and then it can be transferred across to wear in the regular position. So we just clip it back up again. The fact that they are at the front means that you can do this while either wearing the bra, or before you put the bra on. Some ladies do find that this cross-over position provides a greater level of support. But it’s also just generally good to have that option of wearing with racerback tops or regular style shirts as well.
If we come down and have a look at the band. The hook and eye clasp at the back here is lightly padded so there’s no rub against the skin. Good level of back support and it comes with a mesh layer as well, to help with breathability. Again, as it comes round under the side a good level of support here as well.
So, if you’re after a high impact level of support, with underwired and nice, smooth seam-free cups, without any bulk or padding, this bra is a great option. It is a bra designed for larger cup-sizes though, so if you are on a smaller cup size, this bra isn’t going to work for you.”
